by Brett Shaw on Aug.11, 2010, under General, Skate
I’ve been riding a lot of big concrete transition stuff the new Beach front park has a big cradle thats fun and there’s a super gnarly bowl out at INDIGO now which will literally kill you if you’re not comfortable riding big steep stuff. The MURTH video is almost done another month or 2 so we’re all filming fill in and end bangers at the moment. Otherwise skating backyard pools i’m listening too wolf parade + Mastodon and i’m reading Ozzy Osbourne’s book which is a good read – Peace

by Brett Shaw on Jun.09, 2010, under General, Skate

Dallas has built a gnarly concrete bowl which is … lets just say i drooled on myself when i saw it it super sick. A hard session went down and everyones stiff, sore and has a scab on at least 3 places on their body’s.
SPAIN / MOZAMBIQUE / DURBAN
by Brett Shaw on May.24, 2010, under General
It’s been a psycho Month or so.My Spain trip got cut in Half due to that Damn Volcano so i never went to Barcelona i met up with everyone in the Basque country. We stayed in Mundaka in the Bungalows up on the hill (there were no waves – I’ve been there 3 times and never seen any swell that place is super fickle). There is so many solid concrete parks on the Spain side of the Basque country so we hit them all and left a lot of our blood behind (Look out for an article coming up in SESSION). Then i went fishing in Pomene which is up in Mozambique it’s a MoFo to get there and back. the winds were all wrong so we never got much just an 8KG Springer. Now i’m back in Durban and we’ve started up a tennis League called the LEAGUE. Pat and i lost to Ian and the Morck last night. Thats it see you at the newly renovated beach front park – Peace.

by Brett Shaw on Mar.25, 2010, under General, Skate
All the Vert dudes up in JHB have taken the Whale by the tail and with Jacques at the helm are well on their way to flying around. I’ve dabbled a bit with Vert in the past but it’s boring on your own. So here’s a toast to some killer sessions in the near future – Peace

NORTH OF DIRTBIN
by Brett Shaw on Jan.27, 2010, under General
This weekend i Headed North with a bunch of dirt bags that included Yann, Dallas, some dude from Finland called JP and the GOAT. We ended up destroying ourselves at the Ballito bowl but we got some sick pic’s with Tyrone and we filmed a couple clips. the GOAT inherited this killer blue cooler box from his Granddad so we filled that with over 18 beverages and with no women folk around we didn’t have to watch our tongues – all in all a killer session. Just watch out for the salty sea dogs living under the tree’s in the park if you’re rolling 5 deep it’s fine but a solo mission could result in some hobo wrestling. Peace

The GOAT gives the bowl his blessing
NEW JHB CONCRETE PARK
by Brett Shaw on Dec.30, 2009, under General, Skate
Just got back from JHB been hanging out and hitting up some spots with the holmies. The new Concrete park (near the Greenstone mall) is Killer. It’s got a 6 foot bowl plus lots of steep ass transitions.Dont hit it up if you’re expecting a street park because it’s pretty much all transition oh yeah and all the coping is metal which i guess is OK. The fence is also hard to climb so rather go ride when you’re meant to.I never saw any rollerbladers which is a good sign and i didn’t have to wear a helmet. It’s ball crusher hot there right now but it’s better than back home in Durban – Peace.
BACK YARD POOLS
by Brett Shaw on Nov.09, 2009, under Skate
I’ve been riding back yard pools with the Homies, listening to the jesus lizard, eating the chicken pie at birds and getting frustrated watching surfing on the internet.Oh yeah and Horrorfest in Cape Town for halloween was insane i watched a 1920′s horror movie and a live band did all the sound effects it was sick.
I still get treated like an outcast when i get my lomography photo’s developed but who cares. I’m going fishing in Oman (south east Asia) tomorrow for three weeks with my Buddy Rich. My chick and i hooked up tickets to see AC DC in Sydney next year rock n roll MoFo’s.
There’s this Kid called kalvyn and he’s beaten me 9 times in a row at mini ramp skate it’s done his confidence wonders – but i’ve been watching old Powell Peralta video’s so i’m going to take him down to china town when i get back from the desert.
Tight Lines.

We skated the Richards Bay park, Mandini and we even hit up the Indigo ramp in the valley of a thousand hill’s my Buddy Dallas has got a sick set up out there. Ross and Alex were super cool homies. A permission pool has dropped out the sky so it’s going to be a good week. Peace
